Office of the Government Chancellery

The Competence Center Data Protection is part of the Office of the Government Chancellery. It supports and advises the offices of the National Administration, the complaints commissions, and the commissions and advisory boards in matters relating to data protection. Several public entities in the fields of culture, education, and development assistance also fall within the Data Protection Officer's scope of responsibility. The main tasks of the competence center include raising awareness of the requirements of data protection law and providing advice and instruction to the employees of the offices concerned. The Competence Center Data Protection itself is subject to supervision by the Data Protection Office (Datenschutzstelle, DSS).
