The University of Liechtenstein, located in Vaduz, is the only public university in the country. It specialises in architecture and spatial development as well as business economics (entrepreneurship, finance, and information systems). It currently offers two bachelor's, four master's, and three doctoral degree programmes. The degree programmes are supplemented by a wide range of continuing education offerings as well as diploma and certificate programmes.

Alongside basic and continuing education, research constitutes the second pillar of the university's work. Research is conducted pursuant to a legislative performance mandate and is crucial for the university's international profile.
