Liechtenstein Curriculum

The Liechtenstein Curriculum (LiLe) sets out the state's educational mandate for schools. It defines educational and learning objectives and hours of instruction, in line with the principles of Lehrplan 21 – the curriculum of German-speaking Switzerland – but taking the specific circumstances of Liechtenstein into account. In addition to the fulfilment of basic requirements, the Liechtenstein Curriculum also emphasises the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills. The focus is on what students should know and be able to do at the end of the teaching cycles.

The LiLe covers a total of 11 years, divided into three cycles. The first cycle extends from kindergarten to grade 2, the second cycle covers grades 3 to 6, and the third cycle covers grades 7 to 9.

Detailed information on the individual LiLe cycles and the skills to be acquired can be found at www.lile.li.
